"The Lay Awakes are a songwriting duo (Anna Paddock & Patrick Anderson) based in Brooklyn, NY and are touring Western Canada in the spring of 2019 in support of their recently released LP "Home Away From Home".
Anna Paddock graduated from New York University with a masters degree in music composition, and since has collaborated internationally with film directors, dancers, and fellow songwriters. She released her first solo album in 2013 and most notably opened for Paul Simon at New York's Beacon Theatre. The couple released their first EP in 2015. Anna went to Trinity Western University in Langley, BC for her undergraduate degree in piano performance.
Patrick Anderson (vocals, guitar) was born in Edmonton and grew up in Ontario. He is a 3-time gold medalist with the Canadian national wheelchair basketball team, (www.patanderson.ca) and is considered the best wheelchair basketball player in the world. However, in a desire to reach unmet goals, he has turned his efforts music over the last few years, and is now performing, writing, and recording with his wife, Anna."
