The Gig - New Artist Showcase with The UppaTones, Aaron Willms, Wayne Joyce and M.E. Netzke

The UppaTones are a (mostly) a cappella trio from Greater Vancouver comprised of choral and folk musicians, Kailee Fortin, Candice Peters, and Melinda Jackson. With a classical sensibility underpinning their sound, The UppaTones sing smooth and soulful tunes with tight harmonies and buttery tones. Open-mic aficionados, The UppaTones can also be found performing sea shanties for university classes, birthday serenades for octogenarians, and folk songs in the park for passers-by and nesting geese.

In the spring of 2020 Matt built a stage-deck off the back of his house in the hope of hosting a multitude of backyard concerts. Nearly to the day of its completion, the ghastly lockdown was enforced. Since then, this stage has remained quiet and unused. We are glad Matt found the stage at Bez Arts Hub and shared his haunting poetic music with the Open Mic folks… and we’re very happy to present him as part of our New Artist Showcase.
