The Wooden Angel is a Christmas story full of imagination and beauty; a story of courage, hope, and ultimately, of joy. In nineteen hundred and eight, the sun crept over the horizon of the vast Canadian Prairies casting its light on Emiline; a young girl eagerly awaiting the arrival of her father from a far-off land, and the final nativity piece he’s carved – The Wooden Angel.
Bez Arts Hub partners with Presence Creative Arts to bring you this readers theatre style, multimedia performance. Told by award-winning actor Jason Hildebrand, with festive music by Bez’s own Russ Rosen, you are in for an evening of delight.

JASON HILDEBRAND, Performer: Part storyteller, part creative catalyst—for more than 25 years Jason has led the Presence Creative Arts team. He is a performer, communication and storytelling coach, theatre and film producer and writer. He has a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts in Performance from York University in Toronto.
Jason is most recognized for his acclaimed solo and duo performances Breathe…, The Prodigal Trilogy, Blue Like Jazz // Live, Life of David and Fish Eyes. He continues to coach artists and leaders in the area of authentic performance, storytelling and communication. He has developed and produced three films and a multicast radio play. His films The Prodigal Trilogy and Breathe… have won multiple awards around the globe.
He has also overseen the development and release of Psalms Microfilms, Cycle One–a series of award-winning short films based on wisdom book released through social media. He is currently in post-production on a film project based on the life of King David entitled, David Chronicles.
Jason lives in Toronto, Canada, with his wife Sara. They have four children, a son-in-law and an aussiedoodle named Rain.
