Headlong Hearts
Headlong Hearts are a Vancouver-based roots band composed of five seasoned veterans of the west coast live music scene. A decades-long musical trust, they write great original songs, sing in stacked harmony, and deliver ace musicianship on guitars, violin, banjo, mandolin, bass and drums. Headlong Hearts are entertainers first and are always focused on making a great experience for audiences. The band released its full-length original album “What We Call Forever” in July 2022 and is currently gigging and writing new songs for their next album.
With an opening set by The UppaTones
Dreamy harmonies, warm tones, and an effortless blend: the UppaTones craft a sound that evokes a hint of nostalgia while giving a fresh, modern take on vocal performance. A contemporary folk trio of longtime friends, they perform (mostly) a cappella, often accompanied by the rhythm of stomps and snaps and the occasional ukulele.
The UppaTones create original songs over countless cups of jasmine tea, finding the most delicious harmonies as they draw inspiration from lived experiences and the magic of nature. They complement their own work with a thoughtful and satisfying selection of cover songs.
Singing around a single, vintage-style microphone, the UppaTones give an intimate performance that showcases the depth of their vocals, the weave of melody and harmony, and the sheer joy of music-making.
In November and December, the UppaTones add winter music to their repertoire. Whether they're carolling streetside, fundraising for charity, or serenading a Santa's breakfast, the UppaTones' melodies bring joy and coziness to seasonal festivities.
Candice, Kailee, and Melinda began singing together in the summer of 2017. As choral singers, they initially dubbed their group 'The Keeners Crew', filling summers with music during the choral off-season. The group shifted membership annually, changing names just as often—Lady Choir, The Saltines, and The Salty Sirens, to name a few. In the summer of 2022, the trio became the UppaTones: All soprano voices, they bring nearly every song up a tone (at least!), even the songs they write themselves. The UppaTones write and rehearse in a Cloverdale living room, over cozy cups tea.
