Cue two hilarious shepherds from Devonshire who spill their beer and drop their wieners in the fire when the angels appear; or a Scottish innkeeper who is so stressed, he even has customers sleeping the broom closet; or an Indian Wiseman from the East, Toronto—all presented in modern-day perspectives through the one-man storytelling talents of Justyn Rees. Your host, singer-songwriter Russ Rosen and multi-instrumentalist Brett Ziegler intertwine this seasonal story with swirls of musical commentary and breaths of unspoken narrative. With nightly musical performances by featured guests: Shari Ulrich, Graham Ord, Wild Blue Herons and Marcus Mosely—it’s a dynamite combination! This is Christmas Tales.
For the last 7 years, various versions of this Christmas Presentation has been offered up to dozens of communities across Canada to the great delight of audiences—audiences who love this fresh take on the cast of Bethlehem characters. For the 2020 season, these touring troubadours will not be able to make their usual visitations and have planned instead to create a live broadcast of the whole presentation over 4 evenings (December 17-20) from the Bez Arts Hub theatre space in Langley, BC.
